French nurse Clotilde Bur, 23, rides with guides and local tourists over the 1.6-kilometer white water “tubing” adventure in the village of New la Union in Maitum town in Sarangani province. White water “tubing,” the local version of Cagayan de Oro City’s white water rafting, is the top tourist draw in the town, luring domestic and foreign tourists who dare take the breathtaking adventure aboard a “salba-bida” (inflated tire tube) downstream, across rapids and forest cover. Maitum posted 19% increase in tourist arrivals, from 10,818 in 2006 to 12,895 last year. (Photo by Cocoy Sexcion/Sarangani Information Office)
